Biography
In April 2012, Governor Terry Branstad appointed Robert von Wolffradt to the post of Chief Information Officer for the State of Iowa. Mr. von Wolffradt is the senior technology leader for the State and is responsible for the State’s technology vision, setting IT policy and strategic direction, transforming business processes, and providing counsel to the Governor and senior management. Mr. von Wolffradt has extensive experience with federal, state, and local government as well as private industry. Prior to coming to Iowa, he served as the Chief Information Officer for the State of Wyoming from 2007 to 2011, the Director of Information Services for Snohomish County, Washington, and the Executive Director of the Washington School Information Processing Cooperative. He also completed a 20 year career in the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. von Wolffradt holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland and a Master’s Degree in Computer Resources and Information Management from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri.
