ABOUT NASCIO   |   Program Management

NASCIO's Program Management activities support an important function of ongoing performance measurement of NASCIO's strategic planning process and execution. Measuring progress toward meeting our goals and objectives, and documenting outcomes is a priority recognized by the Association and supported by resources in the annual work plan. For each goal and objective, NASCIO has a series of key performance indicators, metrics and data sources which are tracked and reported on a quarterly basis. These reports are presented in a modified scorecard which is clearly presented and easy to interpret. The "vital signs" measure the health of the Association in key areas of performance. Driven by these performance measures and metrics, NASCIO has a commitment to improvement and corrective action to better serve its membership.

NASCIO recognizes outstanding associations share similar characteristics and success factors that make them distinct. As outlined in 7 Measures of Success: What Remarkable Associations Do that Others Don't , a groundbreaking research project by ASAE & The Center for Association Leadership, NASCIO continually strives to emulate these factors:

  1. Have an intense customer service culture
  2. Ensure that their products and services are consistent with their mission
  3. Nurture a culture that values dialogue and engagement
  4. Support a data driven decision making process
  5. Have a CEO who serves as a broker of ideas
  6. Adapt to change without straying from their mission
  7. Build and maintain strategic alliances to further their mission
