BiographyEric Link was appointed interim chief information officer (CIO) of the commonwealth and VITA agency head by Governor Terry McAuliffe. Link currently serves as executive director of legal and legislative services at VITA. In that position, he is responsible for providing executive leadership to VITA, and overseeing the agency's interactions with the Virginia General Assembly and the Office of the Attorney General. He has worked at VITA for more than nine years. In addition to his time serving the commonwealth, Link has worked at both the local and federal government levels. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar, having earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Richmond. Link will serve in this role until Governor McAuliffe appoints a permanent replacement for outgoing CIO Sam A. Nixon Jr.
