Biography
Mark VanOrden was appointed by Governor Gary Herbert in September 2012 to serve as the State of Utah’s Chief Information Officer and Executive Director of the Department of Technology Services. As Executive Director of DTS, he is responsible for all of the IT activities for the State Executive Branch agencies. Mr. VanOrden has been in the IT industry since 1979 and began working for the State in 1982. Mr. VanOrden had previously been the IT Director for the Department of Workforce Services since 2006. He was the distinguished recipient of the Merrill Baumgardner Award in 2007.
