As an innovator in Missouri and as a leader nationally, Gerry is always pushing towards new frontiers and breaking boundaries. His optimism, courage, and vision are an inspiration to all of us in state government, and I am immensely pleased that you are recognizing him today." Governor Bob Holden, State of Missouri "Gerry Wethington has been an innovative leader in taking NASCIO from a primarily conference-oriented organization to one that has true impact with top level policy makers in federal and state government. He's done this while dealing with 36 new CIO's in just over two years, and has still kept his eye on the ball in the areas of information security, the "Help America Vote Act," and IT sourcing. NASCIO has become widely recognized as a force in state government policy planning and Gerry deserves a great deal of credit in getting us there. We're delighted to recognize his dedication and commitment with this award." Thomas Jarrett, Chief Information Officer, State of Delaware
