This is a discussion only forum that will include guest speakers, a dedicated Webpage on NASCIO’s Website for exchange of information and other activities deemed appropriate by forum members.
E-Records Management and Digital Preservation Work Group
State CIOs play an ever-increasing role regarding the lifecycle of electronic records management. This working group will:- Build upon the E-Discovery Working Group's and Enterprise Architecture Committee's previous work on records management and digital preservation
- Produce a deliverable(s) that will identify and discuss state best practices for embarking on, implementing and maintaining an enterprise records management initiative
- Partner with other organizations, such as NARA (National Archives and Records Administration) and CoSA (Council of State Archivists)

State IT Workforce Working Group
The aging of the public sector workforce, and the impact this will have on state government IT is commonly acknowledged as a challenge state CIOs now confront and will face for several years in the future.
