Newly emerging threats, exponential growth in attacks, and the amount of health data doubling every 18 months, has created a real need for secure data exchange in the states. Facing these turbulent times, many state CIOs and CISOs have been charged with safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity and availability of state  health data and systems. This session will provide context into the challenges that exist for state health data, both at rest and when being exchanged. The panel will describe the role that state CIOs, CISOs, and privacy experts can play in better securing state health systems.
