NASCIO AWARDS NSR ARCHITECTURE CONTRACT

(Lexington, KY - August 1, 2001) - The National Association of State Chief Information Officers has awarded an initial four-month contract with renewal options pending future work to National Systems & Research Co. (NSR) to assist the association with adaptive, enterprise-wide architecture development. This work is part of the U.S. Department of Justice grant-funded effort. Established in 1980, NSR is a full-service information systems engineering company with headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

"NSR distinguished itself by exhibiting a strong desire to partner with NASCIO," explained Gerry Wethington, NASCIO Architecture Working Group Chair and acting CIO for the state of Missouri. "We look forward to working with NSR to develop useful and timely architectural tools that will help government at all levels deploy a superior infrastructure for digital government."

After being notified of the award, NSR Director of Information Technology Solutions and Services, Barry F. Van Sant, responded; "We are honored to be chosen from a very select crowd to support NASCIO on this effort. This is an exciting project that will benefit all states and government organizations by laying the foundation for far-reaching, e-government enabled architectures."

Work on the contract will begin immediately.
