NASCIO Elects New Leadership
(New Orleans, LA) - At its Annual meeting in New Orleans, the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) elected Tom Jarrett, Secretary and CIO, Department of Technology and Information for the state of Delaware, to serve as NASCIO President for its 2004-2005 program year. Jarrett will replace Missouri CIO Gerry Wethington who served as association President for the 2002-2003 and 2003-2004 program years.
The membership also elected several new officers and directors for the organization. The following are the new and returning officers and directors:

Separately, NASCIO's Corporate Leadership Council elected Pat Cummens (ESRI) as this year's Chair, and Aldona Valicenti (Oracle) and Rick Webb (Accenture) as Co-Vice chairs.
"I am honored to continue the tradition of excellence established by retiring President Gerry Wethington of Missouri. Under his guidance NASCIO has become proactive in helping CIOs better align government technical investments with state business agendas. During my term as President, my goal will be implementing NASCIO's strategic plan with particular focus on IT privacy and security issues."

NASCIO represents the state chief information officers from the 50 states, six U.S. territories and the District of Columbia. Members include cabinet and senior level state officials responsible for information resource management. Other IT officials participate as associate members and private sector representatives may become corporate members.
