NASCIO Elects New Leadership

(Lexington, KY) - At its recent Annual meeting in San Diego, the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) elected Matt Miszewski, Chief Information Officer for the state of Wisconsin, to serve as NASCIO President for its 2005-2006 program year. More information about Miszewski is available here. Miszewski will replace Delaware CIO Tom Jarrett who served as association President for the 2004-2005 program year.

The membership also elected several new officers and directors for the organization. The following are the new and returning officers and directors:
Officers

  • Secretary/Treasurer-Terry Savage, Chief Information Officer, Nevada

  • Otto Doll, Chief Information Officer, South Dakota

Returning Directors
  • Larry Biggio, Chief Information Officer, Wyoming
  • John Gillispie, Chief Operating Officer, Iowa
  • Gary Robinson, Chief Information Officer, Washington
Separately, NASCIO's Corporate Leadership Council (CLC) elected Pat Cummens (ESRI) as this year's Chair, and Rick Webb (Accenture) as Vice chair. Cummens also served as the CLC's 2004-2005 Chair and Webb was a Co-Vice chair along with Aldona Valicenti (Oracle) for the 2004-2005 program year.

NASCIO represents state chief information officers and information resource executives and managers from the 50 states, six U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia. State members are senior officials from any of the three branches of state government who have executive-level and statewide responsibility for information resource management. Representatives from federal, municipal, and international governments and state officials who are involved in information resource management but do not have chief responsibility for that function participate in the organization as associate members. Private-sector firms and non-profit organizations may join as corporate members.
