  • NASCIO is pleased to announce the release of its new video, At Risk! Securing Government in a Digital World

The Information Security and Privacy Committee is pleased with the response to NASCIO's new video "At Risk! Securing Government in a Digital World". View it in streaming form or order your free DVD copy.

Technology makes so much possible for government. Yet, when a security breach disrupts government operations--the results can be disastrous. How serious are the threats against government operating in a digital age? It is like fighting a storm that never ends. The threats are everywhere--outside and inside--and they are there all the time. Always changing and adapting. Is your government ready to deal with security risks in a digital age?

We would like to thank the following NASCIO corporate members for providing funding for this project:

    CA, Inc. Red Hat
    CIBER SunGard Availability Services
    EMC Symantec
    Motorola Unisys
NIC Verizon Business Security Solutions powered by Cybertrust

  • NASCIO Supports DTV Transition

NASCIO will serve as an important public awareness channel for the Federal Communications Commission as an outreach partner for the digital television transition. After February 17, 2009 full-power television stations will broadcast in digital only. An important benefit of the switch to all-digital broadcasting is that it will free up parts of the valuable broadcast spectrum for public safety communications (such as police, fire departments and other first responders). In addition, NASCIO wants to ensure that citizens still using over-the-air television broadcast signals in 2009 will continue to receive state government alerts, warnings and information notices. For more detail, visit www.nascio.org/advocacy/current/dtv.cfm.
