Media Partner Policy

NASCIO public and private sector members greatly benefit from growing levels of communication and participation within the association. Increased media interest and participation in NASCIO, however, make it necessary to implement the following guidelines and policies in order to preserve a carefully cultivated climate. Media Partners with NASCIO are encouraged to provide meaningful interactions between state CIOs, their staff, and members of the corporate community.

  • To qualify as a NASCIO Media Partner, a media outlet must fill out the media partner application and go through the review process that usually takes about 5-10 business days
  • Media Partner must be a national media outlet in the SLED market
  • If approved the Media Partner’s profile, logo and profile contact information will be listed on

  •         NASCIO conferences provide excellent opportunities for media partners to network with state and corporate attendees. Please support the inclusion and participation of all registered attendees at all NASCIO program sessions
  •         Four (4) complimentary attendee registrations per conference (this includes all press, videographers, photographers, reporters, journalists, etc.)
  •         Media Partners will be featured on the conference’s websites to include:
    •      Logo
    •      Bio
    •      Twitter Handle
    •      Website
    •      Profile Contact Information
  •         Full color logo included on signage at the conferences
  •        Recognition as media partner through NASCIO social media channels
  •         Access to preliminary attendee lists leading up to the conference and one final attendee list after the conference
  •          Distribution of publications at each conference (publications to be sent to conference site, claimed and paid for by onsite media partner and delivered to the NASCIO registration desk – publications will be set out by NASCIO staff)
  •         Opportunity to interview conference attendees while onsite (NASCIO to provide shared media room)
  •         Dedicated NASCIO staff liaison

For organizations that are umbrella/parent companies, subsidiaries may be covered under the partnership of the umbrella group; however, partnership does not permit co-branding of these companies on the NASCIO website. The combined total of conference attendees for the umbrella company and its subsidiaries will be four attendees. If more than four total attendees would like to attend a conference, the subsidiary company may apply for a separate partnership.
