Summary of Work As a part of North Dakota Information Technology (NDIT), the successful candidate will work with a team that provides cutting-edge and innovative technology to the citizens of ND. The state of ND has and is working to unify large portions of information technology services across several state agencies into one organization, NDIT, creating a new technology landscape in its reach for World Class IT. The successful Data Processing Coordinator candidate must be able to make sound decisions with minimal guidance, stay current with trends and changes in the area of technical expertise and related areas. Must also possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate individuals and create a strong team environment. The successful Data Processing Coordinator candidate will ensure that the current Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Day Care, and DHS Eligibility System (SPACES) are available for the state workers, the citizens of North Dakota, and the 400 plus eligibility workers that reside in the Human Services Zones across the State of North Dakota. It is critical that the nightly batch jobs, interfaces with banks, federal and state partners as well as vendors remain operational for ND Human Services. This individual must have excellent communication skills to ensure users’ needs are met and to conduct training. Duties and Tasks Troubleshoot multiple software application systems. Maintain System configuration change requests within SPACES and schedule and maintain nightly batch schedule for the SPACES application. Liaison between vendors and State Information Technology staff as needed for escalated issues. Work with business analyst and software vendors to test system upgrades and changes. Review and manage outstanding work requests weekly to make sure they are on time and within budget constraints; attend/schedule meetings as necessary; and maintain system documentation Create and modify SQL queries in an Oracle Database environment to produce ad-hoc reports as needed for program staff. Queries may also be needed to identify possible issues in the SPACES System. This position requires occasional on call responsibilities as needed Minimum Qualifications Seven years of work experience in duties involving the modification and maintenance of Information System Software and current and progressive experience in writing/modifying SQL(Structured Query Language) to access Oracle Databases is desired. College level course work in a data processing related degree program may be substituted for the required work experience on a year for year basis.
