Summary of Work: The successful candidate will perform general accounting functions like accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank deposit reconciliation, fixed asset reconciliation, and document scanning. This position will work with NDIT staff to ensure accuracy of invoices to be paid, reconciling with purchase orders, contracts and statements of work, as well as verifying the correlation to billing source data and assist customers when needed. This individual will be trained for all levels of procurement of IT goods and services in a variety of capacities according to State Procurement guidelines. This position will also be utilized in federal grant writing as NDIT expands potential funding sources. The ideal candidate for this position should have technical knowledge in accounting, excel spreadsheet software and information technology in order to effectively perform the above outlined duties. Individual should have prior grant writing/managing experience. Individual should also have a passion for the ever-changing technology field. Individual must possess communication and diplomacy skills to work effectively with a variety of governmental officials and customers. Individual must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to function well as a team member. Duties and Tasks: • Perform accounts payable functions including verification of accurate invoices, proper coding of the invoice, and entering payment information into ERP system • Perform bank deposits and reconciliations as needed to support other accounting staff • Seek out and apply for federal grant funding to assist with the initiatives of NDIT • Identify, research, and resolve accounting discrepancies. • Analyze, allocate, and monitor expenditures and revenues. • Assist in the development of accounting and budgeting procedures. • Maintain accounting ledgers, journals, registers, etc. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum requirement for the ideal candidate will include one of the following: • A bachelor’s degree in with an emphasis in accounting, statistics, economics or business. Education should include work with financial data, monitoring changes in expenditures and revenues and preparing/working with accounting and financial reports/records in a medium to large size organization. • An Associate degree in with an emphasis in accounting, statistics, economics or business and two years of professional accounting experience. Experience should include work with financial data, monitoring changes in expenditures and revenues and preparing/working with accounting and financial reports/records in a medium to large size organization. • A High School diploma and four years’ experience that includes work with financial data, monitoring changes in expenditures and revenues and preparing/working with accounting and financial reports/records in a medium to large size organization.
