Summary of Work Work involves a wide variety of tasks associated with administrative and programmatic responsibilities. The position must be able to provide data analysis training, systems support and leadership to all North Dakota K12 schools. Must be able to promote the use of data in schools and ensure the effective use of student data with an emphasis on assessment and risk indicators to improve education by providing the necessary professional development, training, and support directly to school personnel. The successful candidate must have strong leadership, collaboration, communication, and customer service skills, along with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and fulfill the role of subject-matter­ expert. The ability to be self-motivated and self-directed is essential to succeed in this position. Also, being a team member with the skills of understanding the importance of listening, getting ideas from others, and involving subject matter experts in a project is key. North Dakota travel will be required. Duties and Tasks •Develop and deliver all levels of SLDS-related professional development to educators including teachers, pre-service teachers and administrators using a variety of presentation techniques including, but not limited to, face-to-face, collaborative software, videos, and other media. •Build and maintain working relationships with ND Higher Education teacher and administrator preparation programs. •Work with researchers and software developers to perform studies and enhance the overall SLDS environment. •Coordinate and make decisions through data management, communication, and data representatives as to how data should be entered into data systems to ensure data integrity across the ND K12 schools. •Provide analysis, troubleshooting and problem-solving assistance to educators using the SLDS. •Work with representatives of ND SLDS, EduTech, and the SLDS Executive Committee on future updates or changes to the data systems. •Communicate, provide assistance and guidance to all K-12 customers regarding SLDS District Security Administrators roles and responsibilities including reauthorization of users and FERPA training. Minimum Qualifications Requires a bachelor’s degree in education, management, public or business administration or related field and 2 years of work experience that reflects an ability to conduct research, provide an analysis and interpretation of information, and present information to various groups. Preference will be given to applicants possessing credentials in education, a history of working with education data, and presenting and teaching. NDIT recognizes applicants may be under an existing contract and a later start date will be considered.
