Summary of Work Our Human Resources group has a vision for delivering transformational experiences for future candidates, internal team members and for team members across all of state government in North Dakota. The HR Generalist must be a dynamic, self-motivated team member with diplomacy/tact, outstanding customer service skills, and attention to detail. The successful candidate must also be able to effectively prioritize, possess sound reasoning/judgment skills, maintain a positive attitude and be a strong team player. The HR Generalist will work on variety of different of HR areas such as recruitment; retention; labor relations; compensation/benefits administration; employee and contractor onboarding; performance management; policy development; employee safety and wellness; risk management; and cultural improvement. The successful candidate must also possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to listen, build rapport and credibility as a strategic partner within the business units and across NDIT. Duties and Tasks Manage an effort of continuous improvement that exceeds expectations while assisting the team in reaching for World Class IT service delivery Develop and maintain successful relationships with team members and external stakeholders by developing a clear understanding of business needs, acting as a trusted advisor, and ensuring cost-effective delivery. Participate in the implementation of division strategies with guidance from senior management Administer HR activities such as recruitment, compensation, performance management, benefits, payroll, risk management, cultural initiatives and employee recognition Support supervisors with the performance management process, including but not limited to, performance reviews, employee relations, coaching, corrective action, performance improvement plans, investigations and associate concerns Maintains human resource information system records and compile reports Develop and maintain policies and procedures Minimum Qualifications Minimum requirements for the ideal candidate will include one of the following: Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, or industrial relations and two years of progressive HR work experience. Bachelor’s degree in another field and four years of progressively more responsible HR work experience. A master’s degree may substitute for one year of the HR work experience requirement.
