Doug Robinson Bio

Doug Robinson has served as Executive Director of the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) since 2004. Founded in 1969, NASCIO is the premier national organization representing state chief information officers of the states and territories. As chief executive of the association he is responsible for the overall executive leadership of the association including strategic plan execution, board and committee oversight, government affairs and strategic alliances. He directs initiatives, research and advocacy positions on issues such as CIO leadership, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, IT governance, modernization and innovation. Doug is a frequent speaker, panelist, author and recognized national expert representing state CIOs, technology priorities and emerging trends in state government. 

His career spans over forty years in public sector information technology including positions in state government, higher education and IT consulting. Prior to joining NASCIO he served as Executive Director in the Governor’s Office for Technology, Commonwealth of Kentucky. Doug spent fifteen years of his career at the University of Kentucky in a public service and research role. He is a fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration.
