LEXINGTON, Ky., Tuesday, April 7, 2026—Today, the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) released its strategic plan for 2026-2028. Every two years, the association’s executive committee holds a strategic planning session to review and update the organization’s vision for the coming years.
NASCIO President and Arizona CIO J.R. Sloan said, “While changes to the strategic plan wording are minimal, it highlights the role of the state chief information officer as a strategic business leader. Today’s state CIO is balancing many things and it’s NASCIO’s mission to help them as they prepare for the future. We look forward to continuing that mission.”
The three pillars of the NASCIO Strategic Plan are:
- NASCIO excels as the premier community and trusted resource for state CIOs
- NASCIO advances state CIOs as key state leaders
- NASCIO is a national leader and advocate for government technology policy
